Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
DayTally ("we", "us") provides payroll calculation software for businesses. This policy describes what we collect, why, and how we handle it.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
- Company workspace data — the company name, employee records (names, badges, departments, pay rates), time entries, and payroll calculations you enter or import.
- Operational data — server logs and error reports used to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
Solely to provide the service: authenticating you, computing payroll, and supporting your team's shared workspace. We do not sell your data, rent it, or use your payroll information for advertising — ever.
Who can see it
Workspace data is visible to the members of your company workspace (people who signed up with your join code or invitation). Our infrastructure providers (hosting and managed database services) process data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
Employee data
You (the customer) control the worker records you enter. We process them on your instructions. If you need records corrected or deleted, you can edit or remove them in the app, or contact us for help.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Contact us to delete your account and workspace; we remove associated data within 30 days, excluding minimal records we must keep for legal or security reasons.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Sessions use secure, httpOnly cookies. Access to production systems is restricted and logged.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: your sign-in session and your theme preference. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here and, for significant changes, email account owners.
